About this game
Play dominoes online with Classic and All Fives modes. Join a quick match, invite a friend to a private room or practise against the computer.
How to play
Match the number on a tile to an open end of the chain. If you cannot play, follow the draw or pass action offered by the game. Choose Classic for a match to 100 points or All Fives for a match to 150. In All Fives, scoring depends on the sum of the open ends. The game interface is currently in English.
A useful starting tip
Keep more than one number available in your hand. In All Fives, check the new end total before placing a tile.
Two ways to read the same chain
Arcajoy domino is a two-player match. Classic focuses attention on matching ends and the remaining hand; All Fives adds the total of exposed ends. A placement changes both available numbers and possible points, so a tile that fits is not necessarily the most useful option. Compare the continuation as well as the immediate reduction in your hand.
Choose the computer to learn the game or a private room to meet a friend. Mode names and game messages are currently English. Localised descriptions explain the conditions but do not change the language of the game menus.
Plan the end you leave behind
Before placing, compare your remaining tiles with the number you will expose. Reducing hand weight can help, but preserving an answer after the opponent's move can matter more. With no legal placement, draw from the stock; passing requires both no move and no stock. In All Fives, inspect Ends with terminal doubles and active branches included.
Leave an answer on the table
A tile that reduces your hand may still give the opponent exactly the number they need. Notice the two exposed ends before you play, then check which values remain in your hand. In All Fives, repeat the count after a double or a new branch: the visible total changes quickly.
Questions and answers
Why can I not pass?
Play when a legal move exists. Without a move, draw while the stock has tiles. Passing requires both no move and an empty stock.
Why is Ends different from the two outer numbers?
In All Fives, an exposed end double counts both halves, and the spinner can create more than two ends. Check every active branch.
Why does the match continue after I win a round?
Matches contain several rounds. Classic targets 100 points and All Fives 150; emptying your hand does not necessarily reach that total.
Which language does the domino interface use?
The current game interface is English. Translating the catalogue or this guide does not change its menus; the modes are named Classic and All Fives.
Is discarding the heaviest tile always best?
No. A 4–6 matches a four but leaves a six exposed. Check whether you can answer that number later and which other ends remain. The heavy tile reduces a possible remainder but may remove your only convenient transition. In All Fives, calculate the scoring end total separately: the immediate value of the move and the weight left in your hand are different considerations.
How is a blocked round calculated?
When the stock is empty and both players have passed, compare the pips remaining in their hands. With totals of six and eleven, the smaller hand wins the difference of five. Equal totals have no round winner. First confirm an actual block: while drawing or a legal placement remains possible, this calculation is premature. The round result then contributes to the overall match.
How can I practise All Fives scoring?
Before placing, identify the future open ends and add their values, including terminal doubles and active branches. Compare the result with Ends afterwards. If it differs, find a specific missed or extra end instead of replacing your whole calculation method. Begin with an unbranched chain, then examine a terminal double and a branched position separately. Each exercise isolates one additional counting condition.
