How to play
Arrange cards in descending order across ten columns. A complete king-to-ace sequence of one suit is removed from the board. Build all eight sequences to finish. Use one suit to learn the layout, then try two or four suits. Dealing from the stock adds another row of cards, so prepare your columns first.
A useful starting tip
Create empty columns to reorganise sequences. A same-suit run is easier to move as a group than a mixed-suit stack.
Build suits while preserving space
Spider assembles long runs from smaller compatible sections. Cards can be placed in descending rank across suits, but moving a group together requires one suit. Mixed runs provide temporary support while creating a later separation task. The useful choice is often a balance between exposing information now and retaining room to organise it later.
Begin with one suit to learn ranks and empty columns. Two and four suits add decisions between several compatible builds. The objective stays the same: remove eight complete king-to-ace runs from 104 cards distributed across ten columns and the stock.
Give an empty column a purpose
An open column can hold a group temporarily, separate suits or expose a hidden card. Decide what you gain before consuming the reserve. Sometimes joining two short same-suit sections first is more useful. A deal adds one card to every column, and empty columns do not prevent it here. However, new cards may cover previously convenient endings and interrupt your intended transfers.
Empty columns are working space
An empty column can separate a mixed run, park a useful sequence or make room for a hidden card. Do not fill it just because a move is available. Use it when you can say what the next rearrangement will achieve, then try to earn that space back.

Why can I place another suit but not move the whole group?
Placement requires the next lower rank; a group move additionally requires a same-suit sequence. Mixed groups need rearranging.
Can I deal with an empty column?
Yes, in this implementation. The stock adds a face-up card to each of the ten columns, including empty ones.
Why did a king-to-ace group not clear?
All thirteen cards must be consecutive and of one suit. Check for a missing rank or a card from another suit.
Which mode should I try first?
Start with one suit to learn moves and empty columns. Two and four add suit management while keeping the goal of eight complete sequences.
How do I separate a mixed sequence?
Imagine nine of spades followed by eight and seven of hearts. Move the heart pair together onto another nine or an empty column; the whole mixed group cannot move together. The spade nine becomes separately accessible. Before doing so, name the next purpose: uncover a card, join spades or restore the empty column. Separation should produce a useful continuation rather than merely occupy your reserve.
Why preserve an empty column if it accepts any valid run?
It can temporarily hold blockers and help separate suits. Once occupied, however, it cannot assist another rearrangement. Compare what you receive in exchange: hidden information, an immediate join or a longer same-suit run. Spending the space can be worthwhile, but sometimes preserving it serves the next task better. Its value comes from available continuations, not simply from having an empty area on screen.
What should I check before dealing another row?
Inspect the exposed ends of all ten columns and possible same-suit joins. A new card on each column can cover a useful short run you could have assembled first. Endless transfers without revealing anything are not automatically better, though. State why you are dealing, such as no useful continuation, then review the whole plan afterwards. Empty columns do not prohibit dealing in this implementation.
