How to play browser games with friends
Choose a game for two on Arcajoy. Learn how private rooms work and compare checkers, dominoes, pool and larger-board Tic Tac Toe.
Pick a game together
Checkers rewards planning capture chains; Dominoes asks you to manage the numbers in your hand; pool combines aiming with cue-ball position. Tic Tac Toe offers 5×5 and 7×7 boards with four-in-a-row wins, and a 9×9 board with five-in-a-row wins. Decide on the game and mode before sending an invitation.
Create a private room
Open the game and choose its friend or private-room option. Use the invitation controls shown there to share the room with your friend, then wait for both players before starting. Both players need access to the online game. If the interface asks for sign-in, follow that prompt. Keep the invitation for your intended opponent so the right person joins.
When the other player is not ready
Checkers, Dominoes and 8 Ball Pool Arena offer computer play for practice. A quick match is another option where enabled; it is separate from inviting a specific person. If a friend cannot join, compare the invitation, chosen game and room status, then create a fresh room if necessary. Private online play uses separate connections; do not assume the game supports sharing one keyboard.
Agree on the game format
| Game | Discuss before starting |
|---|---|
| Checkers | English rules, forward captures and short kings. |
| Domino | Classic or All Fives, match target and English interface. |
| Tic Tac Toe | Board size and a line of four or five. |
| Pool | Eight-ball rules, fouls and cue-ball placement afterwards. |
Check an invitation step by step
- Both players open the intended game and check available modes. Complete sign-in first if it is requested.
- One player creates a private room through the game's controls. The other should not create a separate room at the same time.
- Send that friend the current invitation. Check that it belongs to this game and room rather than a previous attempt.
- Wait for the second player and the match start. Follow the room state and messages, not merely the fact that an invitation was sent.
- Before moving, verify mode, turn and timer. Agreeing on rules avoids confusion once the match is underway.
If you end up in different places
If both players created private rooms, each may be waiting separately. Choose one active room and resend its invitation. If a friend reaches the catalogue or another game, compare the chosen game and invite. Do not change several settings at once; first establish that both are using the same room.
After a connection interruption, inspect the game's current message. Do not assume every match can automatically resume: behaviour depends on state and implementation. Coordinate creating a replacement room so one player is not left waiting in the old one. Practise against the computer between attempts where that mode exists.
Make friendly matches useful practice
For your first matches, stay with one game and discuss a specific moment afterwards: a missed checkers capture, wrong domino end total, open Tic Tac Toe line or pool foul. Each game's guide and FAQ let you verify the rule without debating memories of another variant.
A private online match means two connected participants; it does not claim shared-keyboard play. Quick matchmaking solves a different task, finding an opponent. To play each other specifically, use the private invitation route and verify the participant before starting. Choosing a familiar opponent does not change the game's compulsory rules.

Questions and answers
Can two people use the same keyboard?
Private play means two players connected to the game. It does not describe a shared-keyboard mode.
What is the difference between quick match and a private room?
Quick match looks for an opponent. A private room is for playing with a particular person.
Does inviting a friend change the rules?
No. The room chooses the opponent; the game's normal rules and turn order still apply.
