How to play
Remove pairs of identical tiles. A tile is free when nothing covers it and at least its left or right side is open. Clear the whole layout to finish. The game offers five layout families, three difficulty levels, hints and undo. Initial deals are generated with a solution, but your choices still matter. The interface is currently in English.
A useful starting tip
Prefer pairs that uncover stacked tiles or open long rows. When four matching tiles are available, compare the space each pair would release.
A layered solitaire made of tiles
Mahjong Solitaire is a solo puzzle about matching identical free tiles. Attention moves between pictures and layout: upper layers cover lower tiles, while neighbours restrict lateral access. Seeing the desired pair is not enough. Both tiles must be available for removal in the current position, and the next available pairs depend on what you uncover.
This is solitaire mahjong, rather than building a hand against several opponents or drawing connecting lines between pictures. The current game interface is English. Hints and undo help explore the layout when a pair is hard to spot or an earlier choice blocked access.
Choose what the pair opens
When several identical tiles are free, compare their combinations. One pair may release an upper layer; another may open a long side row. Locate the fourth copy and consider what reaching it requires. A solvable starting layout does not make every removal order successful, so preserve access to the matching tiles you leave behind.
Remove pairs with a reason
Two free matching tiles can disappear now, but one choice may expose a side and the other may bury the only matching pair you will need later. Pause for a moment and look at the tiles above, beside and below each option. A short look ahead saves more restarts than quick clicking.

Why can I not select matching tiles?
Both tiles need a clear top and at least one open side. A visible picture does not mean the tile is available to remove.
How is a hint different from undo?
A hint locates an available pair in the current position. Undo reverses a previous move so you can try a different pair after blocking progress.
Does a solvable starting layout guarantee a win?
No. A solution exists initially, but removal order matters. A poor choice among identical tiles can block access to the remaining pairs.
Does this game connect tiles with lines?
No. This is single-player Mahjong Solitaire using free pairs, not Connect rules. The game interface is currently English.
How should I choose among three identical free tiles?
Compare what each possible pair opens. If removing two gives access to the fourth copy, the remaining third may obtain its partner. Another pairing may release nothing useful. Check upper layers too: lateral access does not help while a tile is covered. Several identical pictures therefore do not make every removal equivalent for the rest of the solution.
How can a hint help me understand the layout?
Before removing the suggested pair, explain each tile's availability: uncovered above and open on at least one side. Then identify the neighbours that will become available. Compare another pair if one exists. A hint helps detect a legal action, while evaluating which area it opens remains a separate task. That second check is useful practice in reading the layers rather than following highlights.
What should I change after undoing an unhelpful removal?
Identify what became trapped: the last matching picture, an upper layer or a long outer row. Choose an alternative pair for that specific problem. Random removals without a reason may reproduce the same block. Compare both tiles' availability now and access to the future pair after the move, instead of judging progress only by the number of tiles removed from the board.
