Play card solitaire online

In solitaire, there is no opponent to wait for. You have a deck, a layout and a set of rules for clearing it. Arcajoy has Klondike, Spider and FreeCell, all playable in your browser. The cards are familiar, but the problems differ: uncover a hidden row, build a sequence in one suit or reach a card buried halfway down a column. One move can sometimes open several more.

Klondike gradually reveals cards as you build foundations by suit. Spider asks you to make sequences from king to ace. An empty column is useful because it gives you room to rearrange cards. FreeCell shows the whole deal at the start and provides temporary cells for moving cards between columns. Fill every cell too quickly, though, and you will have fewer options for the next transfer.

Klondike, Spider or FreeCell?

Klondike is a familiar starting point. With some cards hidden, you adjust your plan as the deal opens up. Spider involves more work with long sequences; even a useful run can have unwanted cards in its way. Try FreeCell if you prefer to study the layout before moving. You can trace which cards block each other before touching the first one.

An available move is not always the move to make. Look at what lies underneath the card and where the next card could go. Uncovering a card or freeing a column can help more than building a tidy sequence that leaves everything else blocked. If a familiar move does not work, check the rules: these games differ in how they handle sequences and empty columns.
